For all my talk about not liking Pride in NYC (the drunkenness, the rampant corporate capitalism), I always manage to see a bit of the parade and every time my heart overflows and my eyes fill with tears. It is love, chaos, noise, and celebration at its best. Seeing straight people with little kids waving rainbow flags or Chinese chefs watching the parade on their break with a rainbow flag tucked into their hat made me realize that I'm not just proud of where we are as a community but as a society.
