Not cool, Rick and Morty. Cruelty towards your characters is hilarious. Cruelty towards your audience is ... cruel.

I've been trying with Rick and Morty but it's too mean-spirited for me. I can abide it in Always Sunny, but for some reason it grates on me here.

That's funny. I'm just the opposite. I stopped with Always Sunny because the mean-spiritedness got to me. But I LOOOOVE Rick and Morty! I think Morty's naive, optimistic adolescence is what sells it for me.
