I really hate yelling at customer service, but it finally worked for me today. I just decided to continue being an unhinged angry person until they capitulated. Their tone went from "that's not our policy" to suddenly being willing to correct their mistake. All it takes is angry screaming!

Yeah, yelling at someone at Time Warner Cable (I did apologize because I knew it wasn't actually HER fault, but I had to vent) got me a free month of a pay movie station! :D
