I was at dinner with someone last night and I made a Melania Trump joke (like "Apparently she said she invented Post-it notes"). He pulled out his phone and showed multiple texts from her. Apparently they're close acquaintances. I back-pedaled as much as I could muster saying "Well...she speaks very well for someone who learned English as a second language. What were her speech writers thinking?" But get this: her texts were like 80% emoji! She should have spoken from the heart at the convention and acted out various emoji for her speech with the emoji running as subtitles. It would have been landmark!
